In Ancient Greece the landscape is defined by a series of mountains and water. The climate of Ancient Greece is hot and dry in the Summer, but in the Fall it begins to rain and storm. In the Winter it is chilly and rainy not really cold. Spring comes around and it is pretty rainy but everything starts to turn green. Farmers would harvest wheat, barley, beans, vegetables, and grapes (for the wine). The average climate is 75 degrees Fahrenheit or 24 degrees Celsius. The terrain is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea and has over 1,400 islands.
The ancient Greeks were seafaring people. They traded with other countries around the Mediterranean Sea. The mountains protected them from predators. But the mountains did stop them from trading on foot. They are right in the middle of volcanoes which play a big part in disaster. The development of city-states around them affected the trading.
